JdV by Hyatt is set to make its UK debut in Witney, Oxfordshire, with InnPractice appointed Hotel Management Partner for Oxford Witney Hotel as the property undergoes an extensive transformation.

The 130-bedroom hotel is expected to become the first JdV by Hyatt property in the UK, introducing Hyatt’s upscale lifestyle brand to Oxfordshire through a distinctly local lens.

Expected to reopen by the end of 2026, Oxford Witney Hotel will be repositioned as a distinctive lifestyle destination shaped by the character, creativity and heritage of Witney. Located around 15 miles west of Oxford, the hotel will connect guests with the market town,
Oxfordshire and the wider Cotswolds, while creating a welcoming social hub for the local community.

Bringing JdV by Hyatt to the UK

The JdV by Hyatt brand offers a collection of independent hotels that exhibit personality and joy. True to its namesake, joie de vivre, the properties are vibrant reflections of their surroundings, inviting guests to embrace discovery in their travels. As part of the JdV by Hyatt brand, the hotel is expected to offer eligible guests access to World of Hyatt benefits.

Witney provides a compelling setting for the brand’s expected UK debut. Rather than competing with Oxford’s city hotels or the grand country estates of the Cotswolds, Oxford Witney Hotel will offer something different: a warm, sociable market-town hotel with its own locally rooted identity.

Anna Corkill, RVP Development UK & Ireland at Hyatt, said:

“Bringing JdV by Hyatt to the UK is an important milestone for the brand and a natural fit for Witney – a destination with a strong identity and sense of place. Together with CL Capital and InnPractice, we are creating a hotel that reflects the character of the local community while giving guests a distinctive new way to experience Oxfordshire.”

A story woven in Witney

The hotel’s experience and interiors will draw inspiration from Witney’s centuries-old wool and blanket-making tradition.

For generations, wool from the Cotswold hills was washed and fulled in the River Windrush before being woven into blankets that travelled from Witney across the world. This history will inform the hotel’s design, storytelling and guest experience, complemented by the purposeful, hand-made spirit of the wider Arts and Crafts movement.

As the hotel prepares to reopen, its team will develop relationships with local makers, suppliers and community organisations. These connections will help guests discover more of Witney while ensuring the hotel becomes a place where local residents feel equally at home.

The transformed hotel will include a restaurant and bar featuring produce from local suppliers, alongside 1,754 sq ft / 163 sq m of flexible meeting and event space for up to 90 guests. These spaces will support meetings, workshops, private dining and smaller social
occasions, bringing together hotel guests, local businesses and the wider community.

InnPractice selected as Hotel Management Partner

As Hotel Management Partner, InnPractice will support Oxford Witney Hotel through its operational leadership, commercial expertise, specialist partners and management infrastructure. The hotel will be led by its on-property team, with InnPractice providing the structure, systems and support needed to reposition the property and build long-term performance.

The hotel’s performance will also be supported by InnSights, InnPractice’s proprietary platform, which gives owners a single view of financial, operational and guest experience performance.

Graham Norris, Managing Partner at InnPractice, said:

“This is a landmark moment for both InnPractice and for JdV by Hyatt’s arrival in the UK. Oxford Witney Hotel is a compelling setting for the brand’s debut: a characterful market town with its own identity, strong connections to Oxford and the Cotswolds, and real potential to become part of the local social fabric.”

More details about the hotel’s transformation, team, local partnerships and reopening will be shared over the coming months.
